Affordable Dental Crowns
You want a million-dollar smile. In today’s image conscious society and youth-oriented business climate, some might even say that you need a million-dollar smile, as it is one of your greatest cosmetic assets. Luckily, you don’t have to be a millionaire to make your smile dreams come true! We understand that, particularly in today’s challenging economic times, everyone is on a tight budget, and we strive to provide affordable options, with high-end results.
What factors affect the cost of a dental crown?
Every person is unique, and every dental problem is unique. We take a highly individualized approach to dental care, tailoring every treatment plant to that patient’s specific needs, goals, and budget. Therefore, the cost of a crown, like and other restoration, can vary for several reasons.
The material is one of the most important factors. Gold crowns have excellent durability, longevity, and biocompatibility. However, they are also the most expensive option. Fortunately, most people are happy to bypass gold as an option, as there are more cosmetic, natural looking materials at a much more affordable price. Pure porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal, are the most common choices for patients on a tight budget.
Additionally, the degree of damage, and the presence or absence of other dental problems will have an impact on the overall cost of treatment. For example, if a tooth is infected, we will likely need to perform a root canal procedure prior to placing the crown. On the other hand, if a tooth is healthy, but badly worn, you probably won’t need any dental work aside from a crown. After a thorough examination, we will provide a comprehensive estimate of costs.
Insurance coverage
If you have dental insurance, your cost for a crown will likely be minimal. Although the details of policies vary, most insurance will cover at least a portion of costs. Crowns are necessary for health or functional restoration, so they are not classified as elective. Please understand that we cannot guarantee coverage, or your share of cost. We can provide an estimate, but you will need to contact your insurance provider for details of your coverage.
